History of AIEMnet and it's goals

The Australian Industry Engineering and Manufacturing Network Cooperative Limited (AIEMnet) was founded in July 2003 and is an industry based alliance operating in Queensland. It is focused on securing additional work for its members and to build economic growth and create additional employment outcomes. This is made possible by maximizing the collective capacity and capability of its members and from the strong supply chains that exist between them. AIEMnet members predominately come from the engineering, manufacturing, hydraulic and electrical sector plus steel suppliers, truck and trailer builders, labour hire and skilled migration agents, apprenticeship service companies, group training organisations, regional councils, TAFE and others who share our passion, vision and service commitment.

AIEMnet is a membership based, not-for-profit cooperative and with increasing national and international competition, the network provides the framework for members to win additional business for themselves, the regions they serve and Queensland. AIEMnet members through their supply chains, capability and capacity are able to offer outstanding service and delivery to small, medium and the largest corporate clients.

AIEMnet is also there to improve the opportunity to share new technologies, skills and expertise, increase capability and achieve economies of scale in production, marketing, research and innovation plus create additional employment outcomes. The purpose of AIEMnet is to preserve existing business and develop new opportunities for its members and clients and to recognise the benefit of strong supply chains to regional industries. By working together, capacity and capability can be increased to better serve clients plus it stops leakage of business out of regions where there is historic need to diversify their economic base.

AIEMnet works with numerous industry and government stakeholders that have proven themselves committed to working in partnership to address wider regional issues, including skills training, labour and employment needs. Partners include local, state and Australian government department and like minded progressive business and industry associations, labour, education and training providers. Members benefit from group capability such as the ability to jointly bid on major contracts and to offer clients a greater service and to better meet deadlines as demanded by industry. Knowledge is shared by members plus AIEMnet is committed to run seminars and workshops to make sure its members and others have the latest knowledge on industry trends, labour and associated workplace issues. AIEMnet also is a specialist in running seminars/ forums for clients and to make sure that industry is fully aware of what government and the client requires. AIEMnet also lobbies and advises governments when required and to make sure regional Australian companies and its clients get heard on issues that will move Australia forward, plus make it easier for clients to achieve their goals in a competitive world.

AIEMnet is also involved in skilling and training our future workforce through a range of programs we undertake for government and others. AIEMnet also works closely with high schools and TAFE in making sure students are fully aware of opportunities available in the trades and it runs it’s highly successful TALENT program which places students in their years 11 and 12 in a range on businesses so they gain knowledge and skills which can lead to apprenticeship opportunities and the results have been outstanding. Students are also paid for their time in this program.
